Over the past 24 years in the hospitality industry, Joel Owen and Tarrah Laidman have travelled the world and have been inspired to share their wealth of food at their cooking school Urban Graze, located in Sydney’s Hills District.
The next journey is Urban Graze Food Tours which takes people all over Australia, focusing on Sydney to experience a gastronomic world outside of your own that you didn’t know existed or thought you would ever be able to experience.
Multi award winning Urban Graze Cooking School has been operating since August 2006 with outstanding success. Relying on just word of mouth, Urban Graze has created a huge demand for cooking classes in the Hills District of Sydney with classes being booked out months in advance.
Joel Owen and Tarrah Laidman’s combined experience of almost 50 years in mainly fine dining in the hospitality industry gives their students a wealth of knowledge to feed off for virtually all styles of cookery and pastry.
What once started off as a part time job for both Joel and Tarrah has become full time for both, with not just a cooking school but premium catering, Urban Graze Junior, unique corporate events and now Urban Graze Food Tours.
Urban Graze Food Tours has been designed to take you to unique places that the general public would not normally have access combined with the best places to buy and eat specialty foods.
Joel’s specialty is with ethnic foods including Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian. Joel often puts modern twists on these cuisines crossing paths with different regions ingredients and techniques. Tarrah is trained in classic French cuisine. Her specialty is a modern approach to French, Italian, game, sauces and Spanish cuisine. She also conducts the dessert, confectionary and baking classes for Urban Graze being a professional pastry chef. |
